How to Add Custom Ringtone on a Specific WhatsApp Contact

If you are thinking of ways to know when particular contact texts or calls in WhatsApp without actually turning on the screen?

The solution is too simple. You just have to do some customization settings in WhatsApp. That way when the chosen contact interacts with you on WhatsApp, you will hear a different notification sound than what you hear when others text you on WhatsApp. That way you will be able to know who just messaged you without even unlocking the phone. Follow the steps to see how you can do it.

 

Step 1: Open the chat window of a particular person whom you want to set custom ringtones and message notification tones for. Click on the name tab of the person.

   

Step 2: Next, click on the option of “Custom Notifications”.

 

 

Step 3: The checkbox in front of “Use custom notifications” will be by default unchecked. So just check this checkbox to enable customization.

   

Step 4: Click on “Notification tone” under “Message notifications” section. Here you get to choose the specific message tone that you want to assign to your individual contact.

       

Now you can get to hear a specific tone for your favourite contact which is different from the rest of your contacts.

 

As you see, you can also assign a specific ringtone for a particular WhatsApp contact under “Call notifications”.

 

Other Special Settings That You Can Assign to Individual Contacts

You can choose to vibrate the phone only when a particular friend texts or calls you, so that you are never too late to respond to them as you are always alerted when they call or message. For that, you can choose to turn on the Vibrate option.

 

You can assign a particular LED light to the special contact, such that whenever he/she messages, the LED light will blink in the colour you have selected, letting you know that it is this person who has texted you.
